The Education Department of CVAR continues its cultural work and invites students and educators to participate in its educational programmes, designed to enrich knowledge of the history of Cyprus.

Wishing everyone a relaxing summer filled with beautiful moments!
This school year has highlighted the importance of drawing on the arts in education to foster acceptance, collaboration, and the development of new ways of meaningful coexistence and peace.
As the 2025–2026 school year comes to an end, the Centre of Visual Arts & Research (CVAR) extends its heartfelt thanks to all the children who participated in its educational programmes, as well as to the teachers and schools who supported the work of the Costas & Rita Severis Foundation with their trust and commitment.
This year further reinforced the Museum’s role as a meeting place where art and history become bridges of communication. Through CVAR’s activities, children had the opportunity to cultivate values such as cooperation, acceptance of diversity, peace, and meaningful coexistence. In a world that is constantly changing, these values remain at the heart of our educational mission.
We would also like to express our sincere gratitude to our collaborators who contributed significantly to enriching this year’s programmes: Panayiota Georgiou from the University of Cyprus Art Group, actor Andreas Alkiviadis, Panayiota Zintili, author Ploutarchos Eleftheriou, artist Sotiris Sevastidis, Christina Papamiltiadou of the Cyprus Computer Society, Derya Tangul from the European Union Infopoint, dog trainer Stephanos Severis, and researcher and filmmaker Cyril Lafon.
Through school visits, thematic workshops, guided tours of Nicosia, and many other collaborations, CVAR continues to offer children meaningful hands-on experiences that promote dialogue, understanding, and respect for others.
Museum educators Kyriakos Theocharous and Emily Christofi extend their warm thanks to everyone who took part in this journey of learning and creativity.

Summer at CVAR 2026
The CVAR Centre of Visual Arts & Research is offering its educational programmes again this summer, providing unique learning experiences for its young friends.
The educational programmes: A Naturalist’s Diary, Travelling in Cyprus (offered in English), Exploring the Museum, and Melusine, each lasting 90 minutes, are designed for preschool and elementary school children and intended for groups of five or more children.
Our summer visitors learn about the history of Cyprus through art and hands-on activities that foster observation and creative thinking, in a friendly and welcoming museum environment.
Participation cost: 5 euros/child
